Depart from the Nieuwkoop city centre on a tourist boat,for a 30 minute sail which will take you to Café Watersport. There you will be welcomed with coffee and cake. Your guide will then take you to the Smederijmuseum where the local smith will demonstrate his metal working craft.
The tourist boat will then take you further on to the Regthuystoren. A local guide will accompany you to the top of this 35 metre high tower. From the top you will enjoy a breathtaking, panoramic view of Nieuwkoop. On clear days you might even see the ArenA in Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport, the Dom in Utrecht or the Erasmusbridge in Rotterdam.
Continuing your journey on foot through the Dorpsstraat, you will see one of the oldest Protestant Churches in the Netherlandswhich was built in 1822.
Afterwards, you will enjoy a large lunch by the waterside at restaurant Tijsterman where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Noordeinderplas. If you are interested, there is also a two century old floating cellar open for visitors to view. A walk of approximately 10 minutes will take you back to the starting point on the Regthuysplein.
